At Arkham Bengals, we select our breeding queens based on exceptional temperament, ensuring only the gentlest females become mothers. Each queen participates in cat shows as a kitten, with select females continuing to compete periodically as adults. Because Bengal cats naturally experience estrus cycles monthly, our breeding schedule is carefully managed around their individual cycles.
As a small hobby cattery, all of our queens reside within our home as cherished family members, where they raise their litters in a nurturing, attentive environment. To guarantee the highest standards of health for our breeding program and offspring, all queens undergo comprehensive genetic screening, regular Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) heart screenings by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist, and are confirmed negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV).
