ADULTS AND KITTENS AVAILABLE
The Cashmere Bengal, officially recognized by the International Cat Association (TICA) as the Bengal Longhair, represents a captivating variant within the Bengal breed. Genetically identical to traditional short-haired Bengals, Cashmeres possess a naturally occurring, recessive long-hair gene inherited from the domestic foundation cats used in the early stages of breed development. They exhibit the exact same high intelligence, energetic playfulness, and striking wild aesthetics as their short-haired counterparts, complemented by a luxurious, silky, semi-long coat and a beautifully plumed tail. Furthermore, many enthusiasts note that their temperament can sometimes be slightly calmer and more laid-back compared to the traditional short-haired Bengal.

Because the long-hair gene is recessive, many Bengal lines carried it silently for generations. Since 2022, Arkham Bengals has purposefully paired select adults carrying this hidden gene to protect, celebrate, and perpetuate these historic genetics. Our dedication culminated in a landmark achievement with the successful birth of our first two Cashmere kittens in 2024.
We believe that the fantastic, interactive traits of the Bengal blend beautifully with the unique aesthetic of a semi-longhair coat. Rather than hiding this naturally occurring trait, our goal is to see the Cashmere fully acknowledged and celebrated within the feline community. We take great pride in our progress, having already produced award-winning lines and secured multiple coveted Breed Wins within the show community.

Per TICA standards, the Cashmere coat is medium to long and exceptionally soft, laying flat to resist matting while ensuring that the trademark rosetted or marbled patterns remain prominently visible.
As we continue to meticulously develop and strengthen these bloodlines, public availability for Cashmere kittens will remain limited. At this time, priority placement for available Cashmere kittens will be given to dedicated families who are enthusiastic about showing and introducing these magnificent cats to the feline exhibition community.

Despite the luxurious length of the Cashmere coat, grooming requirements are typically minimal. The silky texture of their fur naturally lays flat and resists matting, making routine maintenance remarkably simple.
To ensure our kittens grow into confident, well-adjusted adults, we begin introducing them to water and grooming routines around 8 weeks of age. Because Bengals are naturally fascinated by water, most of our kittens thoroughly enjoy the experience of having a bath and a professional blow dry, making future spa days a stress-free bonding experience for you and your cat.
